Blueberry in Spanish

There are actually two ways to say “blueberry” in Spanish, depending on the region:

  • Arándano: This is the most common term and is understood throughout the Spanish-speaking world. However, it’s important to note that arándano can also refer to cranberries in some places.
  • Moras azules: This literally translates to “blueberries” and is a more descriptive term that avoids any confusion with cranberries. It’s more common in Spain.

So, while arándano is generally understood, if you want to be absolutely clear you can use moras azules or even just arándanos azules.
